How Do They Do It?

Using Silicon Graphics® workstations and SoftPlotter, a software package developed by Vision International for the GIS and mapping community, Tuck Engineering produces the digital orthophotography in demand by its clients. Digital elevation models can be generated by autocorrellation or imported from an analytical stereo plotter. Vector files are overlaid over the digital orthos in order to provide a quality check that all features are in their true positions. With the ortho image, the design vectors are shaded and then draped on top of the digital terrain model. In a 3D image you can see that the design and the ground surface are merged perfectly.
